H.I.P new season for baby boomers

H.I.P new season for baby boomers

Rotorua District Council’s (RDC) summer/autumn edition of the popular H.I.P. Stuff for Baby Boomers brochure is now available.

H.I.P. Stuff for Baby Boomers aims to get local ‘soon-to-be-seniors’ involved in hobbies, interests and passions, hence the name H.I.P.

RDC community services officer Carole Parker says the brochure goes from strength-to-strength with each new publication.

“The latest brochure has over 20% more activities that the previous publication, and showcases opportunities for enrichment, involvement and challenge for residents transitioning into retirement.

“Whether it’s joining a walking group or a baby boomers’ dance class, learning to ‘surf the net’, flying a radio-controlled model aircraft, taking a Te Reo class, enrolling in a 2-day pastel drawing workshop or learning how to make jewellery, residents aged 55 and over should use the booklet as a guide to broadening their social interaction, knowledge and wellness.

"The booklet is chock full of activities and events that people can get involved in. For information on something new and different to try - this is the place to find it."

H.I.P. Stuff for Baby Boomers is available from Rotorua District Council’s Customer Centre, various retail and community organisations, and on the council website www.rdc.govt.nz, under the ‘Recreation’ tab.
