Hanna Grace Releases New Single ‘Up High’ For Free!
Following the release of her debut album Concrete and Roses and nationwide tour, sassy singer-songwriter Hanna Grace is back with a new single, ‘Up High’, and she wants to give it to you for free.
Whist singles ‘Red Lips’ and ‘Hush Now’ left you drowning in a room of cigar smoke, brass and jazzy bass lines, ‘Up High’ is a more playful and quirky pop track with a catchy guitar rift.
Like most of the songs on her album, ‘Up High’ draws from a real life experience. Written about the end of a relationship, the track is a reflection of the moments spent with that person. Delving into emotions of loss, regret, and longing for the way things used to be, the song completely rejects the reality of the broken-down relationship, instead viewing it with a sense of romanticism.
The music video for ‘Up High’, set to hit TV screens this week, elaborates on the feelings of loss and longing visually. Situated in a run-down flat with ripped wallpaper and a leaking ceiling, Hanna contemplates the times spent with her ex, wanting to escape the reality that he is no longer there.
The floaty and feel good chorus extenuates these desires and, set at one of her favourite beaches Piha, Hanna escapes into denial and temporary happiness.
‘Up High’ is Hanna’s fourth single off Concrete & Roses and is available for free download from her website: www.hannagracemusic.com . Don’t forget to check out the video while you’re there!
Concrete & Roses is available now from all good record stores and digitally.
“Grace’s versatility and song craft that makes this rise above an average debut. Whether she gets down and grunty on ‘City Alibi’ or shifts to a piano ballad on ‘If I Bought You a Rose’, Grace is impressive.”- Dominion Post
