Where Are You Sleeping Tonight?: A Nirvana Tribute Show
To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of Nirvana’s iconic album Nevermind and the multi-format reissue of the album this September, 95bFM is putting together a night of Nirvana covers at the Kings Arms on Friday, Sept 23rd.
Interpreting Nirvana’s classic catalogue are some of the best - and perhaps least expected - young bands that Auckland has to offer:
SHERPA
god bows to math
$noregazZzm
MEAN GIRLS
X-RAY FIENDS
NEVERNUDES
As with past 95bFM tribute nights, expect the unexpected - each of these bands is sure to impart their own unique (and likely unorthodox) spin on Nirvana’s pivotal sound.
To commemorate the anniversary of this landmark album, Universal Music have created a full spectrum re-issue programme worthy of such a pivotal classic. With configurations ranging from a 4-CD/1-DVD Super Deluxe Edition to a standard digital/CD remaster of the original album, the 20th anniversary reissue of Nevermind makes the most of the occasion, unearthing literally dozens of previously unreleased recordings, obscure B-sides, alternate mixes, radio sessions, studio rarities and live recordings - including a 1991 Halloween concert at Seattle's Paramount Theatre in its entirety. The 20th Anniversary Editions will be released on September 26th by Universal Music New Zealand.
