Playwright, children’s writer, dramatist, screen writer holds The University of Auckland/Michael King Writers’ Centre Fellowship in 2011.
Michelanne is a talented writer, whose works range from drama and children’s theatre to comedy and musical. Her works explore her Jewish family roots as well as some of the most intriguing tales from her adopted homeland. She is well known to audiences in Christchurch, where plays such as Don’t Mention Casablanca, Larnach Castle of Lies and Daughters of Heaven premiered. Last year, she created a hit at the Auckland International Comedy Festival with actor and comedian Paul Barrett in Tic Tic, a solo play exploring Tourette’s syndrome.
Join Michelanne and Paul for an entertaining hour of amusing and dramatic readings from a selection of her plays, followed by afternoon tea hosted by the Devonport Friends of the Michael King Writers’ Centre.
