New To Hamilton And Confused
New To Hamilton And Confused
Adjusting to a new town, let alone a new country can often be a stressful experience for the casual traveller.
But migrants coming to NZ face the added stress of having to settle in quickly and restart their lives in a new land.
Over the last 9 years in Hamilton and other major cities in New Zealand, a dedicated group of migrants has been helping newcomers make this transition a little less painful.
Organised by migrants for migrants, the Migrant Expo is a unique free event in New Zealand not replicated on this scale anywhere in the world.
This year the Waikato Migrant Expo - New2Hamilton - will be held at The Atrium, Wintec City Campus, Tristam Street, Hamilton City on Saturday, 5 November 2011 from 10am-4pm. Entry for visitors is free of charge.
Services on show will include: immigration, legal advisors, education providers, English language services, job search assistance, banks, insurance, money transfer, franchises, health, safety, travel, real estate, and not-for-profit organizations. An added attraction is a food festival.
