Living Dolls - Sinisterly pretty
Annah Stretton takes a trip down memory lane with her latest collection amplifying the beloved dress up clothes for the favourite dolls from our childhood in Living Dolls, to be launched at Air New Zealand Fashion Week 2011 tonight.
For that little part within us that never wants to grow up become your own real life doll and channel dress ups from your youth with Annah Stretton's Winter 2012 collection.
For Annah, the Living Dolls collection ignites those nostalgic feelings of child's play. Dollhouses trace their history back hundreds of years to the baby house display cases of Europe, with their idealized interiors. Annah has taken the opposite approach amplifying beloved miniatures into full size garments with exquisite detailing and making the idealized a reality.
Living Dolls was created for women who like to dress up - there's no doubt about that but these are anything but play clothes.
Dusky pinks, mauve, camel, cream and mint form an Italian gelato palette of soft colours in an opposing style to Calamity and Envy - Annah Stretton's last two Fashion Week shows - showing there's nothing loud about this collection.
True to Annah's signature style, frocks form the statement pieces of this collection.
Dresses for every occasion from adorable baby dolls, empire lines and full skirts with a Victorian influence in gorgeous lace, taffeta, tulle, velvet and fur.
Don't forget to add your own style with your choice of tights. We love tights dotted with flowers or feminine nude fishnets.
Scattered throughout the range are beautiful coats, blouses and the odd pant set finds its way in too.
On the other end of the scale Annah dresses her dolls up for the night life with sexy sequin numbers, sheer black lace dresses and satin pant sets.
In typical Annah Stretton form Living Dolls continues to celebrate womanhood with a healthy allowance of femininity and power dressing in every garment.
