Mitre 10 MEGA
focuses on female DIY’ers to “Help our little ones with
a little D.I.Y”
Throughout September & October,
Mitre 10 MEGA stores across the country will host an
interactive education event for female customers in
association with Plunket.
It will be the second time that Ladies' Night, an in-store programme launched by the home-improvement retailer in the nineties, will be run nationwide as part of an effort to reach out to women eager to learn more about DIY.
The events will include a variety of hands on workstations and demonstrations spread throughout each store. The stations will provide instruction on various home-improvement skills, such as using power tools, painting, installing tiles and fixing leaks.
In association with Plunket, the focus of the evening will be to “Help our little ones with a little D.I.Y”, raising money for vital services provided by Plunket for 9 out 10 babies born each year.
Plunket are New Zealand’s largest provider of support services for the development, health and wellbeing of children under 5. Plunket works together with families and communities, to ensure the best start for every child.
Natalie Foote, Sponsorship & Events Manager of Mitre 10 New Zealand, said that recessionary pressures meant that more women than ever before were interested in learning DIY skills and that a focus on raising money for Plunket was a natural fit. “Our customers will be able to say; “I can learn about DIY, enjoy some giveaways AND help a worthy cause at the same time”
