TV One Launches Saturday Edition Of Breakfast

TV ONE will launch a new Saturday edition of its Breakfast programme, co-presented by Rawdon Christie and Toni Street, on 3 September.

Anthony Flannery, TVNZ's Head of News and Current Affairs, says: "Expanding Breakfast's schedule to Saturdays is an exciting development, which we know viewers will welcome."

The Saturday show will be an extension of the regular Monday to Friday Breakfast format, featuring the very latest news, sports and weather information, he says.

"Underpinned by a strong news focus, the show will also cover lifestyle, entertainment and sports - topics of special interest after the working week is over. It will be a great start to the weekend for viewers, before they get on with their shopping or kids' sport."

Rawdon Christie and Toni Street already have a strong association with Breakfast as regular back-up presenters for the weekday show.

Says Anthony Flannery: "Rawdon is a polished, highly professional and very credible presenter with a strong journalistic background.

"Likewise, Toni's an outstanding journalist and a talented broadcaster. She's known and respected for her professionalism, energy and engaging personality."

Broadcast 7-9am each Saturday, the weekend edition of Breakfast will replace the Best of Breakfast highlights programme that currently airs on Saturday mornings.
