The yellow brick road is inching nearer and nearer, as Peach Theatre Company’s large-scale production of The Wizard of Oz confirms its final cast for this much loved classic.
Perhaps one of the memorable roles from the film is the larger than life guard to the Emerald City; which will be played by the iconic radio DJ Robbie Rakete. Kristian Lavercombe returns to The Civic Theatre in the beloved role of “The Scarecrow” after touring as "Riff Raff" in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and playing Mark Cohen in Rent.
Rounding out the famous trio is Nic Kyle who plays The Tin Man. Christchurch based Kyle is one of the country's leading theatre performers and jazz vocalists. In Christchurch he has recently starring in the lead roles in Cabaret, Miss Saigon, Oliver, The History Boys and Sweeney Todd.
