The social anthropologist, Dame Joan Metge, will be be In Conversation with Noel Cheer on Triangle/Stratos Television next week, showing how we talk past each other and that we need to adopt “korero tahi” – talking together – in order the plait the multicultural rope of nationhood.

Dame Joan is a scholar on Maori topics and is widely recognised for her promotion of cross-cultural awareness. She has likened the relationship among the people of New Zealand to a rope of many strands which, when woven or working together, create a strong nation.
