New sparkling wine to make its debut at the
Brancott Estate WOW® Awards Show 2011
Further acknowledging the pioneering spirit that led us to take the bold step of first planting Sauvignon Blanc in
Marlborough, Brancott Estate is launching its first Brancott Estate Sparkling Pinot Gris. The latest addition to a
growing stable of sparkling wines, the Sparkling Pinot Gris offers a fresh twist on this elegant varietal.
The introduction of the new Brancott Estate Sparkling Pinot Gris will coincide with the start of the 2011 Brancott
Estate World of WearableArt™ Awards Show season on 25th August in Wellington.
“We are extremely proud to have had a fourteen-year partnership with WOW®, an event that has been described as
exemplifying New Zealand at its creative, innovative best – it seems the perfect occasion to showcase our new Sparkling
Pinot Gris,” says Patrick Materman, chief winemaker for Brancott Estate.
This creative spirit is the essence of the Brancott Estate WOW® Awards Show, as every year the show breaks new ground.

Brancott Estate’s new Sparkling Pinot Gris joins the current Brut Cuvée and Rosé, and follows on from the highly
successful launch of Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc and Sparkling Pinot Noir in late 2010.
Brancott Estate Sparkling Pinot Gris presents a fresh take on this elegant style.
“Presenting Pinot Gris as a sparkling wine is part of our ongoing discovery of the wonderful elegant qualities the
variety attains, particularly from the cooler climate of the South Island. This is an elegant, crisp style of Pinot Gris
with a palate of soft white nectarine flavours, balanced with lifted aromas of pears and guava,” says Patrick.
Brancott Estate Sparkling Pinot Gris will be on sale in New Zealand from early September, RRP $25.95.
The annual non-stop spectacular Brancott Estate WOW® Awards Show season runs from 25 August - 10 September 2011 at the
TSB Bank Arena in Wellington.
