Developing Business Owners as Speakers in the Capital
This year, the National Speakers Association Branch of Wellington is once again running their Professional Development Series.
Originally the branch was set up to attract speakers, trainers, MCs, coaches, authors and consultants to enhance their speaking abilities by providing members with tools and resources to help them present better, and arm them with the right know-how of running a speaking business. However since it opened up in early 2010, the branch has been attracting more than presenters; it's started to attract Wellington business owners, managers and even business employees who are interested in getting value from the wisdom of the monthly speakers, and other resources that come with being a member of the association.
National Speakers is an international organisation that focuses on producing great speakers to 'ignite the world'. In the USA, the association is made up primarily of keynote speakers, trainers and MCs who get booked years in advance for high fees. Wellington Branch President Eva-Maria claims this is not the only target audience for the Wellington Branch
"When we kicked off the branch, it was interesting to see many people in business who were attending our meetings as guests, and later registering as members, or coming along to upskill at our Professional Development Series. I've always thought of speaking as a powerful both marketing and networking tool for any one in business, and I'm glad the branch is making people in business realize this. This year, we're looking forward to a bigger and better Professional Development Series with some of the country's top speakers coming to share their insights about how they've achieved success through powerful speaking, and how we can do it too." comments Branch President Eva-Maria
The Professional Development Series is held over four Saturdays in central Wellington, covering the eight key competencies the Association has deemed as key for success in presentation skills and business.
