Elevate Graphic Design Exhibition

The Design and Arts College of New Zealand’s (D&A) will be holding ‘Elevate’ a one-night-only Graphic Design Graduate Exhibition. Elevate will be showcasing work from the next generation of designers about to enter the creative industries. A class of 26 talented students will have their work on display at Elevate on Thursday 11th August opening 5.30pm at Open Polytechnic, 166 Moorhouse Ave.

Students will be displaying their portfolios and exhibiting pieces inspired by a stall from Riccarton Bush’s Saturday Market and have created or rebranded the companies’ product. This brief has given students the opportunity to investigate and “Elevate” the stalls existing branding and marketing. This brief gave students not only the opportunity to utilise their skills gained from their 2 years of study but also to focus on their strengths in Design. Elevate will showcase a variety of work from logo design, branding and print advertising, type and image exploration, packaging and promotional materials, as well as illustration, drawing and photography.

“Each student has taken the brief in a different direction, resulting in an exhibition full of unique and creative designs. Students will also display their final portfolios, cataloguing 2 academic years of work, towards their Diploma of Communication Arts and Design. The students have elevated beyond the recent disturbances, and have produced exceptional bodies of work” says Graphic Design Programme Coordinator, Kathryn Spellerberg.

D&A would like to extend an invitation to you to attend Elevate on Thursday 11th August at Open Polytechnic, Level 1, 166 Moorhouse Ave, Christchurch. The exhibition opens at 5.30pm and will be open until 7.30pm.
