b.. General Sales Open Monday 1 August 2011
Warning: Rod’s 2005 Mission Concert sold out in 22 minutes!

He’s a superstar of the music world, having sold over 250 million albums and been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in two continents. He also has the distinction of being the fastest selling artist to headline The Mission Estate Concert. Just 22 minutes was all it took to sell out his concert seven years ago.

ROD STEWART – a Grammy Award-winning artist who continues to dominate pop charts after five decades – returns to the MISSION ESTATE CONCERT next year in what promoters describe as a coup for his fans.

With his distinctive raspy singing and audacious stage persona, backed by a stellar band, Rod will belt out all the hits we know and love him for. Mega hits including “Maggie May”, "Tonight’s the Night" and the notorious "Do Ya Think I’m Sexy" will set the tone for one exclusive night of entertainment for New Zealanders to enjoy. Other hits such as “You Wear It Well”, “Sailing”, “The First Cut is the Deepest”, “Sailing”, ”Baby Jane” make Rod one of New Zealand’s most favourite international artists.
The soccer-mad Englishman has enjoyed unprecedented success over the years with 62 hit singles including 31 that reached the top 10, six of which gained the number one position. He has had 16 top ten singles in the USA, with four of these reaching number one. He was voted at #33 in Q Magazine's list of the top 100 Greatest Singers of all time.

Mission Estate Chief Executive Peter Holley says “His legions of Kiwi fans have told us how much they enjoyed his concert back in 2005 and we are in no doubt that they will continue their love affair with Rod next year.”

SEL Chairman, James Erskine said “we are privileged that Rod has agreed to return. He loves the New Zealand audience as much as they love him.

“Nearly every song in the show has been, and some on more than one occasion, a hit. This concert is going to be a great night of entertainment for his many, many fans. Everyone will sing along ... and more!”

This exclusive concert will be staged at the Mission Estate on Saturday, February 25, 2012. Our loyal Mission Concert Club Members, will be able to EXCLUSIVELY secure tickets on line from midday tomorrow Saturday 30 July 2011 with General Sales commencing 9:00am Monday 1 August 2012.
