Are You Westfield Style Pasifika’s Next Top Model?

Have you got what it takes to rock the runway? Westfield Style Pasifika is once again looking for aspiring models in the ninth annual Westfield Style Pasifika Model Search.

Model Search offers aspiring models of all shapes, sizes, ethnicities and ages the opportunity to star in this year’s Westfield Style Pasifika: Best of Style Pasifika NZ 2011 fashion event and to be noticed by top model agency, Vanity Walk.

Style Pasifika creative director and show producer, Stan Wolfgramm, is encouraging anyone and everyone to get involved.

“Real beauty is all about confidence,” says Wolfgramm. “This is our ninth year of model search and each year we’re after models who represent the cultural diversity we have within New Zealand. We not just looking for models with traditional model looks so we encourage everyone who’s ever wanted to model to head down and give it a go.”

Once again hosted by radio station Flava 95.8FM, Westfield Style Pasifika Model Search is held live at Westfield Glenfield on Saturday 23 July 2011 and Sunday 24 July 2011 and at Westfield Manukau City on Saturday 30 July 2011 and Sunday 31 July 2011. Flava DJs will keep the crowd entertained with great music and plenty of giveaways.

Judges from Style Pasifika and Vanity Walk will select one overall winner from each Westfield centre. Both winners will be invited to star in Westfield Style Pasifika: Best of Style Pasifika – this year staged over two nights in the middle of Rugby World Cup 2011 finals week. They will also receive a contract with Vanity Walk Model and Talent Agency, a modelling course worth over $850, as well as a $100 Westfield gift voucher.

Vanity Walk courses equip models with the necessary skills needed for professional modelling. This includes extensive catwalk training, TV audition and camera acting techniques, make-up and hairstyling trends and self-esteem. Many models discovered at Westfield Style Pasifika Model Search and trained by Vanity Walk have worked both locally and internationally in catwalk shows, editorial and commercial photographic campaigns and featured in TV commercials.

In recognition of Rugby World Cup Westfield Style Pasifika: Best of Style Pasifika is an entirely new show in 2011, reworked to include the traditional Style Pasifika Fashion Awards, the Retro Collection (a look back at the past 17 years of Style Pasifika), the New Zealand Designer Collection (Pasifika and rugby-inspired designs from celebrated New Zealand designers) and the International Designer Collection – a showcase of designs created from New Zealand Merino wool from the participating nations of the Rugby World Cup.

Westfield Style Pasifika takes place at the Vector Arena on Tuesday 18 October and Wednesday 19 October and tickets are now on sale through Ticketmaster.

Entry forms for Westfield Style Pasifika are available from Westfield Malls or can be downloaded from www.stylepasifika.co.nz. Alternatively, entrants are invited to turn up to your nearest participating centre on the day.
