Online Green Dream Launch Pad Courses for Parents

Kiwi Mother Offers Online Green Dream Launch Pad Courses for Parents
Want begin a green career, business or project? New Zealand based Charlotte Squire has ten years experience working, living, and studying 'green' and is offering part-time online courses for the 'green dreamers' of this world - as her contribution to the emerging 'green economy'.

Every day Charlotte updates her green, good news website www.happyzine.co.nz from her home in the small rural community of Golden Bay, New Zealand. Her site reaches thousands of people living in cities, mostly within New Zealand. Working around the needs of her four year old – Kahu - a large part of Charlotte's time includes promoting the progress of “green dreamers” from all over the planet.

“I set up Happyzine so that I could be available to my son, whilst living my own green dreams - which are to inspire and encourage more people to create sustainable, happy, healthy life-styles. I do this by bringing them the good news about green design, business and projects that are happening right now in our own back yards. I publish positive news about a range of other subjects too. And people are thirsty for it, for a sense of hope. It's been wonderful meeting my need to contribute to society and earn an income, while also enjoying watching my boy grow through his early years.”

Charlotte says she's looking forward to beginning two Green Dream Launch Pad courses this August – including a ten week online course for parents.

“Parenting is the most important job we can ever take on, many of us know this, and give out so much energy trying to a good job! Myself included! It is possible, and deeply important, to give a little back to ourselves. The August to October course for parents is a gentle, supportive, well structured process designed to guide parents to identify their key strengths and passions, and clarify the best ways they can use their unique strengths to create a green business, project, or career. It's designed to support loving parenting. I don't tell people how to parent, I encourage them to remember their dreams, even if it's only for five minutes a day."

“We'll go through a process of dreaming, designing and launching green projects. We cover: dreaming and brainstorming, finding a mentor, project planning, finding key partners to collaborate with, financial goal setting, public presentations, healthy communication, life balance, positive thinking and much more. It really is quite a heart warming experience. We create a very safe, supportive, positive culture as a group. You'd be amazed at how excited we all get as we move forward together, even though we've never met!”

Sean Weaver, who is well known through-out the environmental sector in New Zealand for his world-changing work protecting indigenous forestry world-wide, will appear as a guest tutor on the course.

Charlotte believes that numbers of "green dreamers" are growing fast world-wide.

“Many of us feel an innate urge to make some kind of contribution to the state of environment, especially when we're bringing children into the world. My work is to help clarify exactly how people can do this, support them to move forward, put them in contact with key people, and basically to encourage them to believe in themselves.”

Charlotte is also hosting a shorter, one month online Green Dream Launch Pad Course for people with out children. This courses features guest tutor Majora Carter - who has appeared as an acclaimed and passionate Ted.com speaker. Majora is a well known green city planner who initiated 'green space' in her home turf the Bronx and leads similar projects world-wide.

Through her work running Happyzine Charlotte has supported and celebrated hundreds of people who are already involved in green projects such as: green roofs, white roofs, carbon neutral businesses, organic growing and foods, bee keeping, setting up sustainable communities, green fashion, green streets, green energy design, electric bikes, native forest preservation, permaculture, local complementary currencies and local food production, and more.
