Face & Body Art

Sunday 17 & Monday 18 July
The Face and Body Art workshop starts you up with all the basics to create the most professional looking face and body
paint designs! You will learn about body painting materials, hygiene practice and setting up a complete design by
yourself.
This workshop also teaches you various useful sponge & brush techniques, and shows you how to make fluent lines, teardrops, dots, curls and much more. Subjects such as colour
choices and blending will also be covered.

Mask & Prop making

Saturday 16 & Tuesday 19 July
Learn how to create powerful visual impact with props for stage and photography with inexpensive materials. This two-day
workshop takes you through the whole process of making an extremely convincing mask or prop. Moreover, common challenges
like making light pieces and pieces that move with the body are also addressed.
Everyone will be able to profit from this workshop as it focuses on learning inventive and inexpensive ways to create
absolutely stunning designs from common materials.

Airbrushing workshop

Weekend 23-24 July (beginners) & weekend 30-31 July (advanced)
Airbrushing is an art form which allows you to create the most delicate and precise paint designs possible. It's is one
of those skills you can always put into practise, for example in customisation of cars, fashion, surfboards and musical
instruments.
You can learn all about airbrushing at our beginner's workshop, regardless of your skill level. You will explore the
basics of airbrushing, and engage in some practical hands-on work. We also offer an advanced airbrush workshop for the
more experienced, which will set you up with useful and inventive techniques to help you create like a real pro.

Wounds, Horror & Gore

This 2-day workshop will set you up with all special effects and painting techniques needed to create the most wonderful
gore. Get started with fake blood, latex, skin gels, modeling wax and more to make people look sick, dead or demonic.
Learn how to apply makeup effects and special materials on the body to create all sorts of 3D wounds. Surprise everyone
around you with your most realistic and horrific creatures for halloween parties, carnivals, your own horror movies, or
just for fun!

Hairups

Digital Body Art
with Scott Spencer (Weta Workshop)
Saturday 30 July
Discover the extraordinary world of digital body painting and virtual SFX makeup with Scott Spencer of Weta Workshop in
Wellington.
This workshop will teach you the basics of ZBrush, a revolutionary program for digital sculpting and painting. It
provides all the tools needed to complete the 2D or 3D body art concepts you have in mind, in an very short amount of
time. You will use program features to plan out a body paint design on a 3D male or female body.
It might look complex, but trust us, anyone can do it! After this workshop you can create your very own unique 3D
designs in a revolutionary fast and adjustable way, saving lots of time and effort. This is how they do it in the film
industry!

World Bodypainting Festival Austria 2011
As some of you may know, the World Bodypainting Festival in Austria has just come to an ending. This is the greatest
annual bodypainting event of the world, and artists from 40 nations worldwide come to this unique event and put body art
into the mountain and lake scenery.
This year Mem Bourke, our executive and creative director, has earned herself the 19th place in the Special Effects
category. We are all very proud of her and congratulating her with this result, of which you can see the pictures here
below.
Also Yolanda Bartram, the other participating New Zealander, has been off for the World Festival. This year she became
4th out of 60 painters. We would like to congratulate her as well with again an amazing result.
