*Volunteer Opportunity for Executive Advisors*
*July 1st 2011*
Rainbow Youth is currently seeking applications for the role of Executive Advisors within our organization. As an Executive Advisor, you will be working alongside a great team of young people to further Rainbow Youth’s vision. A large part of your role will be supporting the board to refine ideas as well as turning them into strategy’s, which are financially smart and beneficial to our membership and the wider community.
Rainbow Youth is a not for profit incorporated society and registered charity which is governed by a board of ten young people (under 28). Rainbow Youth is playing a strong support role for queer youth organisations and groups both around Aotearoa New Zealand and across the Auckland region. Where possible we facilitate the creation of resources for distribution and strengthening of networks, now with a national youth development focus and education in schools across Auckland.
Our ideal applicant will be able to attend:
§ Board meetings that run on 3rd Monday of the month between 6:00pm – 8:30pm.
§ Annual strategic planning day[s]
§ Team building day
§ Rainbow Youth Education Session
§ Consult on at least one Core Organisational Committee
There are other meetings that take place throughout the month or on an ad-hoc/seasonal basis. You would need to have upwards of 15 hours per month to be successful in this role.
We would expect that advisors are available to respond to emails and have some capacity to support the Rainbow Youth governance team if a crisis situation arose.
