Search begins for new stars for Christmas extravaganza
Do you have the talent, the ambition and the star quality to be part of one of New Zealand’s biggest Christmas musical
spectaculars?
The producers of Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park, now in its 18th year, are searching the nation for this year’s most talented new stars to perform in the popular
Christmas musical production.
Artistic producer Kate Ward-Smythe, who has worked with the event since 1994, is looking for exciting new talent to
perform alongside some of the nation’s most well known and celebrated entertainers both at the two live concerts and
through the primetime TV3 broadcast.
Says Ms Ward Smythe, ”Every year we’re totally impressed by the number of incredibly gifted singers and artists
discovered through the auditions. Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park provides a unique and wonderful opportunity for talented newcomers to strut their stuff alongside a star studded
line-up of some of New Zealand’s best singers, dancers and musicians.”
Aspiring performers are encouraged to apply to audition online by submitting photos, video footage or a recording with
their audition application. This will serve as the first stage of the audition process and if the producers are
impressed, the applicant will be invited to attend one of the audition workshops being held in Auckland and Christchurch
in early August.
This year the experienced talent spotters are keen to discover talented new star soloists as well as inspirational dance
groups with the “wow” factor.
So if you think you have what it takes to share the stage with some of New Zealand’s biggest stars, go to www.christmasinthepark.co.nz and make an online application - and the dream could become a reality!
