Studio Performances at the New Zealand School of Dance

For the first time The New Zealand School of Dance is presenting a night of solos by third year students at the July end of term studio showing, NZSD Up Close. In September the School will be holding a season of four dance performances as part of the Rugby World Cup’s REAL NZ Festival. These performances of INSIGHT - An Open Rehearsal will provide an artistic contrast to watching performances on the Rugby field. Details are below and at www.nzschoolofdance.ac.nz.

Te Whaea: National Dance & Drama Centre, 11 Hutchison Road, Wellington

A varied programme of new contemporary dance works and ballet repertoire rarely seen in New Zealand. These intimate studio performances are an opportunity to get behind the scenes at the New Zealand School of Dance (NZSD).

From the savage to the sublime, the performance on Wednesday will present some of the best solos by third year classical and contemporary students, highlighting their distinctive talents.

The one hour programme on Thursday will be performed by over 40 students of the New Zealand School of Dance fresh from working with outstanding New Zealand choreographer Michael Parmenter and international dance luminary Pablo Aharonian from Ballet de Santiago.
