Transparencies - Gladys
Cunningham
Premier screening Friday 3 June, 7pm -
FREE entry
Exhibition runs 4 - 26 June
2011
Take an armchair trip down memory lane with this
slide show of Huia's Foster Bay and Auckland in the 1950s
and 60s. Gladys Cunningham (1902-1998) was an avid amateur
photographer who used her camera to record numerous family
events and holidays. Through her transparencies we get a
glimpse of a larger social narrative of life and leisure in
New Zealand 50 years ago.
An Auckland Festival of Photography Exhibition presented by Gladys Cunningham's granddaughter, Julie Benjamin and Lopdell House Gallery.

Groovy grocery bag
Celebrate
World Environment Day, with a fun and creative workshop.
Chances are that even if you have swapped your plastic bags
for canvas, you probably still have a few kicking around.
Put them to good use and craft yourself a colourful handbag
or grocery bag made entirely from recycled plastic bags.
Sewing machines and irons needed, please bring one along if
you can.
