The Whacky Painter: In search of the Fastest (eco)painter in New Zealand
Have you ever wondered what happens when you take kiwis’ passion for DIY and add a stop-watch? We have! You will be served with a fun-to-watch & messy to clean after scenes that will produce the Fastest Eco-Painter of New Zealand 2011.
Let the search begin.
In true kiwi spirit, the Green Living Show & Organic Expo 2011 has teamed up with Resene to find who will be the fastest, most efficient painter of New Zealand in a competition set to start at 3:30 pm this Saturday at Alexandra Park Function Centre, Greenlane.
“We like to have a bit of a laugh at Resene and we are always up for a competition,” says Karen Warman Resene Marketing Manager.
The contestants will have 30 seconds to complete a painting job on a section of GIB board. But wait there is a twist. The techniques will be handicapped for each participant – and that's where it gets interesting.
No need to worry though, Resene will provide all the protective gear so you will be leaving the show just as beautiful as you arrived.
“It's time for kiwis who have been buying our eco-friendly paints for the last 65 years to show off their painting talent and win some awesome prizes at the Green Living Show,” adds Karen.
The Green Living Show & Organic Expo 2011 is a consumer and trade show which brings experts from all green sectors meet and share their knowledge to build a better, more sustainable future.
“Many households want to improve their sustainable performance but they just do not know how,” says Tina Raines, organiser of The Green Living Show & Organic Expo.
This show aims to educate visitors about the often simple tips on to improve one's sustainable performance.
“We are happy to host specialist suppliers of organic food and wines; wellness & vitamins and fair trade products right next to industry experts from water, heat and energy conservation, architects, interior designers and many more green areas” adds Tina.
Resene's commitment to the environment dates to 1950s, marked by the groundbreaking introduction of waterbone paint to the local market.
“We are excited to be exhibiting at the show as being green is simply part of who we are – our DNA,” says Karen.
The boards were sponsored by GIB (Winstone Wallboards) and the 'art' will be ethically recycled by the composting experts at Enviro Fert, New Zealand.
