Reminisce About TSS Earnslaw - Chance To Win Centenary Tickets Worth $700

Real Journeys is calling for reminiscences about the TSS Earnslaw vintage steamship for its new website dedicated to the upcoming centenary celebrations (www.tssearnslaw.co.nz). Those who add to the written history of this iconic steamship by sharing their stories, enter a draw to win a double pass worth $700 on the exclusive First Commissioned Sailing Re-enactment Cruise. (Copies of photos and memorabilia are also eligible.)

From being the main source of transport for the early high country farmers to an iconic Queenstown tourist attraction, the stories about this steamship are endless.

“We’re hoping people will remember anything from their first cruise to their favourite TSS Earnslaw anecdote and we’d love to see copies of photos or memorabilia. With all the interest in the centenary it’s a great opportunity to ensure there’s a comprehensive account of all aspects of this national treasure, not only for this event but for generations to come,” said Tony McQuilkin, Real Journeys General Manger International Sales.

With the TSS Earnslaw website now live, Real Journeys has started taking bookings for the centenary celebrations. The week-long party starts on October 18th 2012, and includes a first sailing re-enactment cruise with period costumes, woolshed party at Mt Nicholas Station, lots of activities for families and a variety of special cruises.

“We’ve had great interest in this event, both from here and Australia so we expect the tickets for key events to sell out very quickly,” said Tony McQuilkin.
