Final Days to Do Your Thing with AMP in 2011
Applications for the 13th annual AMP Scholarship Programme close on Tuesday May 31 2011.
With just three weeks to go AMP urges all Kiwi’s, who are doing outstanding things, to apply for the last chance to
receive a helping hand and make their dreams a reality this year.
2,181 applications have now been opened, but only 231 are successfully submitted, and with $200,000 worth of funding
available, Blair Vernon, AMP General Manager, is excited about changing even more lives with the 2011 scholarship
programme.
“We are blown away by the number and calibre of applications received so far, but challenge even more Kiwi’s to complete
their entries in time, and make this the year to do their thing,” he says.
“I want 2011 to be the year we help more Kiwis than ever before to achieve dreams they are determined to realise. The
impending deadline should encourage people to grasp this opportunity while they can,” Vernon concludes.
Applications submitted to date range from a determined compound archer to an aspiring fashion blogger and photographer,
making it clear that AMP’s Scholarship Programme, unlike others available, acknowledges Kiwis of all ages who are
passionate and committed to reaching their goals, whatever they may be.
On May 31 2011 all successfully submitted entries will form the race to the People’s Choice scholarship whereby all
applicants are eligible for a further $10,000 as voted by New Zealanders at www.doyourthing.co.nz from June 1 2011.
The AMP Scholarships Programme has awarded more than $1.2 million worth of scholarships to 112 Kiwis who have been doing
great things over the past 12 years. AMP is gearing up to help even more Kiwis this year.
