Wellington Firebirds squad to play Otago Volts in Plunket Shield
The Wellington Firebirds squad to play the Otago Volts in the 10th and final round of the 2010/11 Plunket Shield at Queenstown, starting Monday 4 April, is:
Grant Elliott (Naenae Old Boys, captain)
Joe Austin-Smellie (North City)
Mark Gillespie (North City)
Harry Boam (Karori)
Andy McKay (Karori)
Cameron Merchant (Taita)
Stephen Murdoch (Karori)
Neal Parlane (Onslow)
Jeetan Patel (Eastern Suburbs)
Stewart Rhodes (Onslow)
Malaesaili Tugaga (North City)
Luke Woodcock (Johnsonville)
There are two changes to the Wellington Firebirds squad that played the Central Stags at the Hawkins Basin Reserve last week. Andy McKay comes in for Dewayne Bowden and Luke Woodcock replaces Michael Pollard.
With one round to play, the Firebirds are one of four teams still in with a chance of winning the Plunket Shield.
The points table is:
Canterbury Wizards 33, Central Stags and Northern Knights 29, Wellington Firebirds 27, Otago Volts 22, Auckland Aces 8.
In the other two last round matches, Canterbury host Northern at Rangiora and Central host Auckland at Napier.
