It's important to give recognition to Young People – nominate them now!
Nominations close in three days on Thursday 31 March for The Young Community Leaders Awards which recognise the outstanding work young people are doing in leadership roles in voluntary organizations in the Greater Wellington region
Frances Russell, Executive Director of Wellington Community Trust, the sponsoring organisation said “We want to recognise the contribution young people make to the community and not-for-profit organisations in the region. There is some great work happening and all to often these people are overlooked, we want to acknowledge and recognise what they are doing in a positive way”.
From the nominations, which close 31 March, the finalists and eventual winners, will be selected by a panel of judges. The finalists will be invited to attend an awards day with inspirational speakers and discussion groups.
A special awards ceremony will be hosted at Government House, where His Excellency The Rt Hon Sir Anand Satyanand, Governor-General of New Zealand will present the five winners with $1,000.
Nominations close on 31 March, and already there have been some outstanding nominations. Ms Russell said “We have a good selection of nominations, but we know there are others out there that are doing equally good work, nominate them now so they don't miss out on the opportunity of winning $1,000”
