Major Naming Sponsors Support Showbiz 2011 Musical
Showbiz Queenstown’s 2011 production of the musical All Shook Up is being supported through sponsorship from two Queenstown companies.
Remarkables Park Town Centre and Remarkables Park Limited have been announced as joint sponsors of this year’s production, crucial support that has been welcomed by producers of the show.
Spokespeople Joanna Hollander, Centre Manager at Remarkables Park Town Centre and Olivia Porter, Special Projects Executive, Remarkables Park Limited, said they were thrilled to support the event for the second year running.
Miss Porter said previous Showbiz productions, most recently last year’s Oliver! were outstanding successes that had commanded the respect and pride of the local community.
“The opportunity to support Showbiz for a second year is an absolute pleasure,” said Miss Porter. “Showbiz has delivered high quality, professional performances since its establishment in 1975, which augers well for 2011 being another stellar Showbiz performance.”
Joanna Hollander said the Town Centre was proud to sponsor local talent.
“Supporting this production is a great opportunity for us to give back to the community,” she said. “In addition to the direct sponsorship, Remarkables Park Town Centre customers will also be able to win tickets to attend the show, including opening night.”
Showbiz president Alex Derbie said it was important that the major sponsor of All Shook Up was an integral part of the Queenstown community.
“The cost of producing such a major show year after year is sadly significantly higher than revenue from ticket sales, so the Remarkables Park Town Centre partnership enables us to commit to a high quality production, and provides additional promotional opportunities to Showbiz Queenstown.”
All Shook Up is a delightfully witty musical by Joe DiPierto woven around 26 ‘favourite’ Elvis Presley songs and performed in true high-spirited rock ‘n’ roll character.
All Shook Up is directed by Bryan Aitken who has an esteemed performing arts resumé. Formerly the Associate Director of the Court Theatre Christchurch, he has previously been awarded the QEII Arts Council Major Travel Grant and received the Trustbank Arts Excellence Award.
Queenstown local Cheryl Collie, who has more than 20 years involvement working with Showbiz performances, is the All Shook Up musical director and will direct a live orchestra each night. Choreographer is experienced dance trainer Tiffany Menzies.
All Shook Up will take place from May 19 – 28 at the Queenstown Memorial Hall.
Remarkables Park Limited is a subsidiary of Porter Group Limited. Remarkables Park Town Centre is owned by Diversified NZ Property Fund Limited and managed by DNZ Property Fund Limited.
