Plunket: Fundraiser for Christchurch Kids

Published: Thu 17 Mar 2011 11:18 AM
Just a heads up to let you know about ‘The Christchurch Rumble Jumble’, a fundraising event happening in Auckland and Wellington on Sat 19 March, in support of children affected by the devastating earthquake in Christchurch.
It’s a huge jumble sale of pre-loved baby and children’s gear. All proceeds will be donated directly to Plunket, who will use the funds to provide quake-related support to children and their families both in Christchurch, and where they have been displaced to other areas.
The Christchurch Rumble Jumble is being organised by ex-pat Cantabs who were spurred into action by the recent disaster. Most of the organising committee are recent mums and dads who wanted to donate their time and skills to a cause which will aid the Mainland’s most vulnerable.
As well as the jumble sale, the event will feature live music, a sausage sizzle, good coffee and a children’s play area, making it a destination event as well as a bargain hunters dream.
Donations of goods for the sale are being accepted at Community Centres around Wellington. Clear out your attic and donate used baby/children’s items such as maternity clothes, baby/ children’s clothes, toys, children’s books, and equipment such as buggies/ portacots. If you have a large items, or if the drop-off points are not convenient, please contact us and we can try and arrange alternatives. Please only clean gear in good condition.
