Win Global Hospitality Award For Luxury Queenstown Hotel
The Rees Hotel and Luxury Apartments ‘chic’ interior and bespoke furnishings by a former designer for British Royal and furniture maker, David Linley, has attracted international recognition in the HotelClub.com annual worldwide 2011 Hotel Awards.
The global giant representing 71,000 accommodation choices in over 7,300 cities throughout 138 countries, presented the boutique Queenstown property today with the consumer-led award for excellence; ‘Outstanding Kiwi Chic, Design & Furnishings in New Zealand’
The Rees General Manager, Mark Rose believed using a local internationally experienced design team and making an investment in superior quality craftsmanship has definitely paid dividends for the five star hotel.
“As part of our desire to showcase the rich talents of the region, we commissioned Cruikshank Furniture to create an elegant, modern interior reflecting the rich pioneering heritage of the area and ethos of the development itself,” said Mr Rose.
Ed Cruikshank, founder of Arrowtown-based, Cruikshank Furniture agrees, “our passion is great design and creating beautiful pieces of longevity and legacy. All credit to The Rees for committing to our proposal for a ‘Rees Collection’ of tailor-made furniture as this latest international award proves their vision of enduring quality.”
Award winners were chosen from over a hundred thousand votes and reviews by HotelClub staff out in the field and members of the public on popular travel and lifestyle social networking sites. Categories ranged from boutique hotels to beach resorts, budget hotels to upscale luxury properties.
This was the first time in the fifteen year competition that New Zealand was in a separate region to the Australian industry.
