Kings and Queens at BATS!
It's been strangely quiet in the BATS office this week with only one show in the theatre - luckily it's a cracker. The Idea of America is garnering some amazing feedback, and features some stunning performances. There are only 5 performances left, so make sure you book as seats are filling up fast.
We are also proud to align with the 2nd Asia Pacific Outgames on in Wellington this week and present two cheeky comedies - we think you'll have a gay old time if you check out Tomboi and Confessions of a Drag Queen which both have limited seasons towards the end of the week. There are also a bunch of other exciting events on around Wellington, so pick up a Guide to the Games from BATS today!
I was lucky enough to be invited to the first read through of Arthur Meek's new play Sheep, which comes to BATS in May - 25 actors, 150 years and a whole lot of wool! This is shaping up to be one of the highlights of the BATS year so make sure you check it out. Details on Sheep and other excting shows coming up at BATS are in the new Guano, which is out and about on the streets of Wellington now - grab a copy!
See you at the theatre!

The Chathams
Tuesday 22nd March - Saturday 2nd April @ 7pm
$20 / $14
The Chathams is an unauthorized theatrical documentary by Toby Leach (one of the guys who wrote Wheeler's Luck), Jonny Moffatt (that guy from The Blackening) and director Eryn Wilson. Audiences have called this show "bloody funny, informative and awesome!!!" and "sweet and charming with great puppetry."
and in The Pit Bar...
The Fringe Festival is over for another year, so the Pit Bar returns to normal hours - 5pm til late Tuesday to Saturday. The weather is turning colder, so come in and warm yourself with a nice top shelf whiskey.
Check out the sweet new art up in the Pit too. Some awesome work.
Win cool stuff!
The Chatham Islands are pretty far away, so we are bringing them to you in the new comedy documentary The Chathams. To be in to win a double pass to opening night simply tell us your favourite island nation. Mine is New Zealand. Obviously.
Congrats to Katy McTeigue who has picked up a double pass to the opening night of Tomboi Wicked.
