NZAFA holding biannual show featuring collection of Academy artists

The New Zealand Academy of Fine Arts, a self-funding gallery dedicated to the visual arts, has selected a group of Academy artists to present their work in its semiannual SOLO exhibition. The show is giving nine artists the opportunity to have a small individual show instead of occupying an entire gallery.

SOLO31’s contributing artists are Ian Hamlin, Susan Hurrell-Fieldes, Nieske Hutchison, Rosalie Jurczenko, Stewart MacKay, Amanda Olson, Sue Scobie, Lisa Taylor-King and Ronda Turk. Included will be both first-time artists to be featured in a SOLO show as well as those who have previously displayed their work. An array of art from Jurczenko’s still lifes to Scobie’s porcelain and clay pieces will be shown at the Academy.

SOLO exhibitions are an excellent way to showcase art from some of the most accomplished artists the Academy has the privilege to represent,” said Johnathon Titheridge, Gallery Coordinator.

SOLO31 will run from March 26-April 10, 2011. Gallery doors are open daily from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Admission is free.
