Coffee, a hot cookie and some fresh air for mums on Buggy Walk
Queenstown mums are invited to step out for a breath of fresh air, a coffee and a hot cookie next Tuesday (1 March) on a social Buggy Walk up to and around Queenstown Gardens.
Mums and their bubs can meet at the Motogrill café on Shotover Street at 11am for a free coffee before heading to Cookie Time on Camp Street for a free hot cookie, then on to the gardens.
The walk is expected to take around 45 minutes. Those wanting to take part need to register at Motogrill before Tuesday’s walk, and one lucky mum will be in the draw to win dinner for two at Luciano’s restaurant and bar in Queenstown.
Buggy Walk has been organized by Motogrill’s Cath Hanna and her daughter Emily Gibbons, and Cookie Time’s Verity Richard. Mrs Hanna and her daughter -- a new mum herself -- decided to set up the walk as “a feel good social opportunity to share the love with new mums in Queenstown.”
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for new mums to get together and stretch their legs with the little ones,” said Mrs Richard. “It should be a fun and very social morning, and what could be better than having a free coffee and hot cookie thrown in.
“We’re looking forward to seeing Buggy Walks become a weekly event for new and young mums in the area.”
To help launch Buggy Walk, the first group of registered mums will be given a free Cookie Muncher cuddly toy on arrival at Cookie Time.
If it’s raining hard, the inaugural Buggy Walk will be postponed until the following Tuesday. The walk will be scheduled every Tuesday thereafter.
