Sonny Bill joins adidas¹ global team of athletes
After making his debut last year with the All Blacks, Sonny Bill Williams
now joins adidas¹ stable of world-class athletes.
In signing the sponsorship deal with adidas, the 25-year-old
double-international joins some of the world¹s most high profile sports
stars.
³It¹s fantastic to have Sonny Bill Williams on board,² says adidas¹ New
Zealand country manager David Huggett. ³He¹s distinguished himself already
as an outstanding professional sportsman and his return to rugby in New
Zealand catapults him into a promising new era in his career.²
Williams was talent-spotted by the Bulldogs as a 15-year-old playing junior
club rugby league in Auckland, and at 18 he made both his NRL debut and his
first game for the Kiwis. He switched to rugby in 2008 and this year he
passed up a lucrative opportunity in Europe to return to New Zealand to
pursue a dream of playing for the All Blacks.

obvious sporting talent,² says Huggett. ³It takes a lot of guts to leave a
distinguished career to have a stab at a childhood dream.
