Kapa Haka Live and Exclusive on Maori Television!

See, hear and celebrate the unique culture of New Zealand when Maori Television presents exclusive and extensive coverage of Te Matatini National Kapa Haka Festival 2011 from Gisborne next month.

Forty-two teams from around the country and Australia will compete for the coveted title of the best Kapa Haka team in the World. Judges have the difficult task of selecting finalists from the first three days to compete in the finals on Sunday 20th February.

New Zealand’s national indigenous broadcaster, Maori Television will screen special updates and highlights during the first three days of the festival – Thursday to Saturday, February 17 to 19, from 8.00 PM to 11.00 PM.

Maori Television will broadcast live from the Te Matatini finals on Sunday February 20 from 8.30 AM to 4.30 PM as the top teams challenge for the coveted national title before the announcement of the supreme winner.

During the festival, Maori Television’s website www.maoritelevision.com will be refreshed regularly with the latest performances from Te Matatini.

Te Matatini National Kapa Haka Festival 2011 – only on Maori Television –Thursday to Saturday, February 17-19, from 8.00 PM to 11.00 PM; and live on Sunday February 20 from 8.30 AM to 4.30 PM.

Viewers can call the helpline on 0800 MA TATOU (0800 628 2868) for advice on how to tune into Maori Television.
