Desperately Seeking Men (Singers)
Mighty River Harmony is looking for more men who enjoy singing. The very successful Waikato men’s barbershop chorus wants to build membership from the current 60 to around 100, ready for the international barbershop singers’ convention in Brisbane in September.
The chorus is holding Open Nights on Tuesdays February 15th and 22nd, 7.30pm at the McMeekan Centre, Ruakura Research campus. Men who would like to try singing are invited to join in the vocal warm-ups with the chorus and experience the pleasure of producing and listening to four-part harmony.
You don’t need to be a great singer – just be able to hold a tune. Ability to read music isn’t essential either as training CDs are available to help with learning songs. Lack of experience is not a problem – for new recruits the chorus is running a free six-week course on the basics of harmony singing, starting on March 1st.
For further information contact Bernie on 853-7613.
