Stoneleigh Partners with 2011 World Buskers Festival
Stoneleigh Vineyards is delighted to be a partner of the World Buskers Festival 2011 to be held in Christchurch from 20th – 30th January 2011.
After 18 years, the festival has grown to over 500 international and local performances taking place over ten days and nights, on the street and in iconic Christchurch venues, to crowds of over 300,000. Summer is not summer without buskers performing some of the most amazing acts of daring, comedy and beauty that you will ever see. What makes the World Buskers Festival unique is the entire festival is donation only – you only pay what you think they are worth.
Stoneleigh is bringing a fresh new take to this year’s World Buskers Festival with the new Festival Fare programme.
To celebrate the festival, 17 leading Christchurch restaurants are taking part in Stoneleigh’s Festival Fare programme from 14th – 30th January. For the ideal dining experience before or after one of the shows on offer, visit any of the featured establishments to enjoy a Festival Fare meal and a glass of Stoneleigh wine for $30.00.
Stoneleigh’s Festival Fare restaurants getting into the spirit of the 2011 World Buskers Festival include; Alchemy Restaurant, Bangalore Polo Club, Bard on Avon, Café Bleu, Cook’n with Gas, Costas Taverna, Fat Eddie’s, Grand Café, Ja-Basco, Liquidity, Piko Piko Restaurant at the Millennium, The Square Restaurant, The Vespa Room, The Flying Burrito Bros, Victoria Street Café, Winnie Bagoes and Yellow Cross Brewing Company.
Christchurch’s iconic Arts Centre is again hosting cabaret and circus style comedy every evening from 7pm throughout the festival at the Stoneleigh Arts Centre Comedy Club.
Stoneleigh will also pop up throughout the Festival in the form of an al fresco bar in the heart of Christchurch’s Cathedral Square, as part of the Pacific Blue Comedy Club.
“Stoneleigh is passionate about encouraging partnerships with the arts and we’re thrilled to be associated with the World Buskers Festival, that once again looks set to showcase extraordinary talent,” says Marisa Johnstone, Stoneleigh brand manager.
