Koru Care took to the water to celebrate Christmas
The weather was golden and the waters calm as more than 200 Koru Care children boarded Fullers Jet Raider for a cruise around Auckland harbour before heading to Eastern Beach for a picnic, karaoke and chance to ride on the Thundercats.
This was the seventh year Koru Care NZ have been fortunate to have Fullers, Howick & Eastern Buses and others come to the party and make the day a memorable one for the kids.
Children who attended were some of the more than 10,000 that Koru Care NZ has helped over the last 26 years, children with kidney disease, heart conditions and those affected with cancer.
The ferry headed out onto the harbour and around the many bays and inlets of Auckland harbour, into Westhaven Mariner. The look on the kids faces when the Police Helicopter buzzed low overhead and the Jet Raider was followed and encircled by one of the Police ‘chase’ boats.
Ann Bain (Chairperson of Koru Care NZ) said “we are really lucky to have the support of so many people and businesses to help make these cruises a success and memorable for everyone, especially being able to help make dreams come true for the kids.
Koru Care NZ raises money for sick and terminally ill kids, and for 27 years have been helping make dreams come for these children through activities such as trips to Disneyland and the Gold Coast.
