King Country Energy New Official Sponsor of Netball Waikato
King Country Energy announced today it is a new official sponsor of Netball Waikato.
The company’s sponsorship will help provide netball programmes and initiatives to over 1400 players in the King Country region. The sponsorship also gives the company naming rights to three netball centres in Taumarunui, Maniapoto and Otorohanga.
CEO of King Country Energy, Rob Foster, said, “Our sponsorship will see the sport of netball strengthened throughout our region, with more sporting opportunities opening up for players of all ages and abilities over the coming year.
“King Country Energy is committed to supporting initiatives that help create a healthy community while providing safe, fun and educational activities for our young people, in particular. Our company saw a good fit with the sport and will work hand-in-hand with Netball Waikato to ensure the community benefits from our sponsorship.”
Mr Foster said Netball Waikato has a strong track record of delivering quality programmes throughout the Waikato while using corporate support wisely. “Netball Waikato’s reputation as an organisation and its passion and commitment to furthering the game were important factors in our decision to become a sponsor.”
Ben Sinnamon, the new Region Manager of Netball Waikato said, “We are very excited to have King Country Energy as an official sponsor for the Netball Waikato Region. Supporting local communities, promoting healthy living, and increasing sport participation are all strong values that we share with King Country Energy.
“We see this as the start of a positive relationship that will strongly benefit the netball community in the Waikato over the next two years. This is also such a great opportunity for us to support the Otorohanga, Maniapoto, and Taumarunui netball centres and to continue to grow the sport of choice at a grassroots level.”
Netball Waikato has over 14,000 registered players, 1,150 coaches and 300 qualified umpires. The Board Chair Lynnette Flowers commented, “We are so very excited to welcome KCE into our family of sponsors as an official sponsor of Netball Waikato Region. To have such a major business in our rural hinterland willing to get involved at this level, shows what great heart netball is in.
“The enthusiasm, determination, dedication and selflessness of all the volunteers in Otorohanga, Maniapoto and Taumarunui who give a community of people wanting to keep fit, enjoy themselves and play a competitive game, a framework to work in, will be rewarded and supported with this sponsorship.”
King Country Energy adds Netball Waikato to its small, targeted portfolio of sponsorships which include: Kiwi Can, Books in Homes, the Waitomo, Turangi and Otorohanga sports awards and Kururau Krusher. For more information on the company’s sponsorships, visit www.kce.co.nz.
Netball Waikato and KCE are looking forward to an ongoing relationship to benefit the netball community in Waikato.
