Awards Continue to Arrive for Saint Clair Family Estate
Saint Clair Family Estate has added another trophy to the cabinet, this time from across the Tasman. The announcement follows last weeks win of the prestigious trophy for Winestate Wine Company of the Year.
The Wrest Point Royal Hobart International Wine Show is one of the most significant events in the Australian wine industry and has grown to become the second largest wine show in the country. At the award presentation dinner held Wednesday 17 November Saint Clair Marlborough Pinot Noir 2009 was awarded the esteemed Rast Trophy sponsored by Etihad Airways for the best Pinot Noir of the show.
This announcement arrives at the same time as the release of the Sydney International Wine Competition results with further award success for the family company’s flagship varietal Sauvignon Blanc.

The Sydney International Wine Competition is unique in that it not only judges the wines in technical terms, it also judges it as a complement to food and the dining experience.
Blue-Gold award winners are all judged alongside appropriate food. These are the finalists that fall in approximately the top 10 percentile range of the total entry. Top 100 Wines award winners are the 100 highest pointed of the Blue-Gold Award winners. From these results the wines that achieved Top 100 status will be in the running for a trophy presented in February 2011.
Saint Clair Family Estate is thrilled to see the 2010 Sauvignon Blanc wines excel in such a world recognised wine competition. Managing Director, Neal Ibbotson comments, “2010 vintage in Marlborough was a typically reliable Marlborough vintage. Exceptional fruit with clean intense flavours meant a perfect set up for our leading New Zealand winemaking team to create world class wines. It is also amazing seeing our Saint Clair Marlborough Pinot Noir picking up such an exceptional result – this proves the ability of our team to produce world class wines of distinction”.
These results endorse Saint Clair’s mission of providing wines that surpass their customer’s expectations across each varietal and every price point and further cements their reputation as a leading New Zealand wine producer.
