All Up In My Fridge

As of November the 2nd 2010, the Year 2 Bachelor of Creative Technology students from WelTec are exhibiting their diverse range of visual art skills at the Fridge Gallery in Petone.

Ranging from stop animations through to geometric abstraction, the exhibition will display the 2nd year students varied talents. Senior lecturer Lorraine Rastorfer describes the exhibition as “a great opportunity for students to test their work in the public sphere, and for their audience to have an opportunity to see and purchase exciting work from the next wave of creatives.

The exhibition is expected to challenge and inspire the viewer. WelTec BCT students welcome anyone looking for fresh motivation, or maybe something that’s a little different.

Opening night: Tuesday the 2nd of November

Drinks and food provided from 6pm onwards. Come and view the exciting new talent emerging from the WelTec Creative Technology degree programme.

The line up consists of:
Maxine Ellah – Layered drawings that intercept found photographs
Todd Hammington - Assemblage utilising an instrument of fame
Max Hancock -Stop animation tales of consumption and woe
Lauren Kremer - Triangle abstractions
Amy Nichol - Mapped ruminations on emptiness and longing
Henry Ene - Silkscreen collages exploring obsession
Jade O’Brien - Investigative drawings of a fantastical feral world
Elisa Middleton – Paintings that draw on performance.
