Top Rugby World Cup 2011 Final Tickets Going Free

In its first significant promotion in New Zealand for Rugby World Cup 2011, Emirates has today launched a competition for premium class travellers which will give these customers the chance to win seats at the Rugby World Cup 2011 Final.

From now until the end of February 2011, Emirates customers in New Zealand who book travel in First or Business Class on return flights out of New Zealand from Auckland or Christchurch will be able to enter the competition.

Two winners will be drawn each month, totalling ten recipients of two Category A seats each to the big match at Eden Park, Auckland, on 23 October next year.

Entrants in the competition will need to undertake their travel before 31 August 2011.

“For the many premium travellers who love their rugby, this is a real bonus on top of the Skywards Miles they earn and the excellent service and comfort they receive on board,” said Emirates New Zealand Manager Chris Lethbridge.

Tournament Organiser Rugby New Zealand 2011 chief executive Martin Snedden congratulated Emirates on the initiative.

“These highly prized tickets are coming out of their allocation as one of the key sponsors of the Tournament and it is great to see them giving them to New Zealand customers,” he said. “The airline is essentially giving part of its contribution back to New Zealanders.”

Emirates was the first sponsor to announce its participation in Rugby World Cup 2011 as a Worldwide Partner when it kicked off the global announcement at a gala event in Auckland in September 2008.

Mr Lethbridge said that other sponsorship activity by the airline, also involving lucky New Zealanders, would follow in coming months.

For bookings, visit www.emirates.com/nz or phone Emirates on 0508 364 728.
