New Weet-Bix Ad Celebrates Cool Kiwi Kids

New Weet-Bix Ad Celebrates Cool Kiwi Kids

A new Weet-Bix TV ad featuring adventurous Kiwi kids is set to hit TV screens on Sunday 10th October.

“Nothing Stops a Weet-Bix Kid” follows four talented youngsters aged 13 -16 who embark on the ultimate adventure riding from snow to surf all in one day.

Weet-Bix Senior Product Manager Nigel Chenery says the new campaign really shows off the ingenuity of Kiwi kids. “This is really our way of applauding the freedom, ambition and tenacity of our nation’s kids. At Weet-Bix, we have always tried to inspire kids to go out and live their dreams and this new campaign will hopefully do this.”

A nationwide search was undertaken to find the right kids to star in the ad, which was shot in the stunning landscape in and around Kaikoura in the South Island.

Will Saxon (14), Carlos Knight (13), Hamish Bagley (14) and Jessica Comber (16) were natural stars who not only demonstrated breath taking talent on the shoot, but created a close bond as they faced the elements – fuelled by Weet-Bix every morning – of course!

The fearless stars hail from Queenstown, Christchurch and Arrowtown and although they are all talented snowboarders did have the occasional slip-up once they were off the snow.

“There were plenty of spills,” says Chenery. “Yet, in between takes, they would just dust themselves off and get straight back into it. This attitude proved they epitomised Weet-Bix and Kiwi values. They were perfect for the job.”

The TV ad and ‘behind the scenes’ footage, including the inhospitable weather conditions the kids had to withstand during the shoot can be viewed online from Friday 8th October at www.weetbix.co.nz. The ad will first screen on Sunday, 10 October.

Weet-Bix is found in more than half of all kiwi households and has been the nations favourite cereal for over 70 years. “We hope Kiwi kids young and old will enjoy this new adventure over the coming weeks,” says Chenery.
