WelTec Arts Tutor Wallace Award Finalist
Wellington artist and WelTec Tutor, Adi Brown, has been selected as a finalist for New Zealand’s most prestigious art awards, the Wallace Art Trust Awards.
Established 19 years ago the awards support, and promote New Zealand contemporary art and artists, recognising the work of prominent New Zealand artists such as Bill Hammond and Judy Millar.
Supported by Fulbright New Zealand, winners of the annual award could receive one of a range of artist residencies based in the United States or Switzerland with a total prize value of $160,000.
WelTec Tutor, Adi Brown was selected as a finalist out of over 400 applicants for her photographic artwork. Adi says the selection is a fantastic honour. “I really appreciate the selection, as it’s great to be a finalist in such a prestigious award.”
Adi’s work will be on show at the New Dowse 22 October - 28 November 2010, as part of the Wallace Trust’s Wellington touring exhibition of winners and selected finalists.
