Auckland’s most famous road comes alive with dance…..

Ponsonby Road Market Day will feature two FUN, FREE dance events on Saturday 18 September.

At 12.45pm, this popular strip will burst into dance as ten dynamic, diverse groups each perform a 5-10 minute flashmob dance at the same time to celebrate the seventh Tempo Dance Festival which runs at Tapac and venues around the city from 15 September to 30 October this year.

Positioned at different points along the road between Western Park and Jervois Road and creating a vibrant spectacle of dance, colour and music, these groups will perform a stunning display of dance styles including Hula, Swing, Korean, Contemporary, Chinese, Pacific and more.

Watch out for other surprise flash mob events on this day also….

And at 1pm there’ll be more entertainment as the Frocks on Bikes parade leaves Western Park to travel the length of Ponsonby Rd – a highlight of the Market Day,

Short and sweet, free and fun – if you love dance, Ponsonby Road is the place to be for great entertainment on Saturday 18 September between 12.45 and 1 pm. Look for the Tempo Dance Festival workers dressed in red T Shirts handing out free festival programmes.
