Old Money Project is
pleased to announce Fastway as the official courier sponsor.
Fastway Couriers will be collecting and delivering all the
old currency and foreign money donated at Resene Colorshops
and Resene retailers for the youth orientated campaign.
Fastway Courier’s NZ Group Marketing Manager, Tania
Biddles said of their sponsorship;
"We are really
excited to be aligned with this campaign. The fact that
what we are doing, together with Resene and the Lions Club
is going to help such a great cause, makes it an easy
project for our entire courier team to get behind. We
obviously hope it’s a huge success for everyone
involved."
Since July 10th, Lions Clubs New Zealand and Resene Paints nationwide have been collecting a percentage of the estimated $116 million in old NZ coins and banknotes sitting idle in our cupboards and drawers. Along with old New Zealand currency, the wide array of foreign currency from a large population of travellers and tourists is also being collected.
Queenstown Lion and Heads Up for Kids Project Chair, Simon Hayes said “Fastway Couriers are industry leaders and their assistance in getting all collections to our national collection centre solves a major logistics problem for us all. We are on track to raising well into a seven figure sum and trust that our association with Fastway is mutually beneficial. Thank you to the Fastway national team, their branches, contractors and staff.”
The money raised will provide a number of scholarships for NZ youth and support NZ youth programmes. Please visit www.lionsclubs.org.nz/oldmoney for more information on Heads Up for Kids
