Auckland's Tastiest Tickets Go On Sale

Taste of Auckland festival arrives at a new home in the heart of Auckland City

Tickets to one of the first big events of the summer, Taste of Auckland, go on sale today Monday 30th August.

For the first time, the Taste of Auckland festival will see Victoria Park become home to fifteen of Auckland's top chefs for a four day festival from 18 -21 November, 2010.

As part of the world's biggest international food festival, Taste of Auckland, will bring the best of Auckland's "foodie" scene together and celebrate the spectacular array of culinary talent our city has to offer.

Across six 4-hour sessions, over the four days, guests' at Taste of Auckland will be able to create their own dream degustation menu from Auckland's finest restaurants, in one afternoon or evening.

Confirmed restaurants include Clooney, DINE by Peter Gordon, Euro, The Grove, Harbourside, Mudbrick, Prego, Q Restaurant, Soto and the Great Chefs Restaurant, hosted by Mark Gregory, featuring Mollies, Sidart & Two Fifteen with proceeds going to Dine Aid.

Those who purchase tickets to Taste of Auckland will have the unique opportunity to meet chefs, watch live demonstrations and discover gourmet produce from more than one hundred premium food and beverage exhibitors.

A full line-up of music and entertainment will also add to the atmosphere of Auckland's most delectable new festival.

Ticket sales to Taste of Auckland follow directly off the back of a highly successful Taste of Melbourne, one of the 13 international Taste festivals taking place this year.

Early bird General Admission tickets to Taste of Auckland are available from Ticketek from August 30th for just $20. This special offer will run through to the end of September or while tickets last.

Premium tickets, at $50, including $30 Crowns (the festival currency used to purchase food and drink), and VIP tickets at $85, including $30 in Crowns, a glass of Nautilus Estate Malborough Cuvee, and entrance to the Singapore Airlines VIP Lounge also go on sale August 30th. Ticketek Box Office fees apply.

Inclusions/Exclusions & Crowns

* Features such as the Fisher & Paykel Chefs Kitchen, Dilmah Chefs Table and Master Classes are included in the cost of the ticket.
* Restaurant Dishes and drinks are to be bought with Crowns. 1 Crown = $1. Each restaurant dish (tapas size) will cost $8 - $14. Drinks are at bar prices, wines from $4 for a half glass.
* Take-home food & drink products can be purchased with cash/eftpos/credit card
* Crowns can be purchased in advance via Ticketek or at the Bank at the event or via roving crown sellers.
