Wella Trend Vision Award 2010 National Final Just Two Weeks Away!

The Wella Professionals International Trend Vision Award is the biggest and only truly international competition of its kind. This annual hairdressing competition celebrates the skills of innovative stylists and showcases their passion and ability to a global audience. Stylists from around the country created their unique looks within the four directional Trend Vision themes for 2010- Nomad Couture, Nature’s Goddess, Techno Poetry and Midnight Stage.

The competition is heating up for 2010 as the Wella Trend Vision live national final takes place in two weeks on Monday 13 September. As we speak, 18 finalists along with their models and assistants are preparing for the big event in Auckland.

The Auckland Museum will host this spectacular competition where 18 teams will cut, colour, crimp and blow-wave their way to winning either the Colour or Young Talent Award. As this prestigious competition is all about glamour, it’s only appropriate that the event will be MC’d by Colin Mathura-Jeffree from the hit show ‘New Zealand’s Next Top Model’. With the impressive talent on show in a beautiful room overlooking the Auckland skyline, this will be the hairdressing event of the year!

A medley of top New Zealand and Australian hairdressers and hair experts have the exciting (and difficult!) task of choosing our winners. The judges are Grant Bettjeman, Greg Murrell, Cameron Grimshaw, Charmaine Guest, Joey Scandizzo and Kerry Langsford. Editor of the premiere hair and beauty magazine Headway, Charmaine Guest says, “there are some stand-out entries for this years Wella Trend Vision and it is great to see such a wide range of interpretations of each trend. I am looking forward to seeing how the finalists translate their photographic work into real life.”

The Gold winners of the Young Talent (under 30’s) and Colour (all ages) Awards will represent New Zealand at the live international final held in Paris on November 7, 2010. Our New Zealand winners will be competing against other stylists from more than 50 countries in front of the world’s hairdressing elite.

The New Zealand winner of the People’s Choice Award (selected by public online voting) will also be announced on September 13.
