Top Hastings Business Supports Hot Pink!
The supreme award winner at the recent HBS Hastings City Business Awards, Urban Retreat has chosen to give something back to the community by sponsoring this year’s Hot Pink Charity Cocktail Party and in turn supporting a very worthy cause, the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation.
Urban Retreat owner, Anna Jepson says one of the main things she hopes to achieve by being the key sponsor is to say thank you and to acknowledge the people who spend every day researching, fundraising and providing assistance to those affected by breast cancer, and contributing in some small way to that effort.
She hopes that by supporting this annual charity event she can give the people doing that work every day a louder voice.
“Raising awareness is a big part of fighting disease and that’s one of the best ways I see businesses increasing impact. Sponsorship helps charities get their message out to a much wider audience.”
Anna knows sponsorship is something business owners work very hard to be able to do. ‘While worthwhile causes come along from the start, it can take a while to get to a place where your business can afford to spare both the focus and finances required,” she says.
Anna says her business goals have always included ways she can add value both inside and outside the business world, “even when having spare time and energy seemed years away”. Successful sponsorships are incredibly rewarding, she says, especially where shared goals are reached together. But while this event promises a great deal, don’t expect to see too much new season colour showcased: “it’s mostly hot pink!”
Jane Janes, Manager of Hastings City Marketing says “Hot Pink is a beautiful event which supports a very worthy cause. The sponsorship from Urban Retreat has allowed us to plan a fantastic event with a few surprises in store and we are so grateful for this support.”
The event will embrace the iconic wineries, food and wonderful entertainment together on one dazzling occasion. Proceeds from the Hot Pink Charity Cocktail Party will benefit the New Zealand Breast Cancer Foundation initiatives and programmes.
Tickets are available from Ticket Direct for $28 (booking fee applies – www.ticketdirect.co.nz – 0800 4 TICKET). This year’s wineries will include: Askerne Estate Winery, Bridge Pa Vineyard, CJ Pask Winery, Clearview Estate Winery, Salvare Estate, Trinity Hill, Unison Vineyard, Black Barn Vineyards, Elephant Hill Estate Winery, Esk Valley Estates, Lime Rock Wines and Sileni Estates.
