“We’ve followed every stage of their preparation for the Games and will be cheering them on when they step up to compete in Delhi. We hope the support the Grants have provided will continue to spell sporting success for our athletes for years to come.”

Terry Daly, Commercial Director of the New Zealand Olympic Committee, adds, “Funding is critical for our sports people – it can mean the difference between achieving a place on the podium or even making it to the Games at all. About the Cadbury Chocolate Grants
Cadbury and the New Zealand Commonwealth Games Federation invited all athletes on the Commonwealth Games long list to apply for a Cadbury Chocolate Grant consisting of fundraising chocolate with an RRP of $20,000. The 10 Cadbury Chocolate Grants recipients were chosen because they not only embody the values and principles of the New Zealand Commonwealth Games Federation and Cadbury New Zealand, but because of the real difference the Grant will make to their Games preparation and their sporting career.
Cadbury has supported the Cadbury Chocolate Grant athletes with fundraising tips and advice on how to garner support from their local community and, with the assistance of New Zealand Olympic Committee partners Harvey World Travel and United Travel, has undertaken to sell 50% of the chocolate on behalf of all 10 athletes. Chocolate can be purchased at any Harvey World Travel or United Travel stores throughout New Zealand, with 100% of proceeds going to the athletes.
