KAA LIFE – Sunday September 5 at 5.00 PM Healthy lifestyle, exercise and food with Aotearoa performance artiste and gay icon, Mika. This week: the crew continues looking at core strength and the benefits of correct posture. Plus amazing healthy recipes, and Jay Tewake demonstrates the latest crazy dance moves.

IT’S IN THE BAG – Sunday September 5 at 7.00 PM Pio Terei and Stacey Morrison blaze through Bay of Plenty, Waikato and the Far North, for a second Maori Television series of a truly iconic New Zealand game show. Tonight features a kuia with 45 grandchildren, and a young Murupara man who is determined to put his town on the map.

TATAI HONO – Sunday September 5 at 8.00 PM An extraordinary series that reconnects people with their Maori origins, and documents their journeys of self-discovery. Tonight: Val heads to the Tairawhiti Museum in Gisborne to find information on her tipuna. She receives words of wisdom from Paora Whaanga QBE, a respected historian and genealogist.

CHARACTER (SUNDAY FEATURE) (1997) – Sunday September 5 at 8.30 PM In 1920s Rotterdam, a ruthless and feared bailiff named Dreverhaven is found dead with a knife sticking out of his stomach. The obvious suspect is Katadreuffe. An ambitious young lawyer who worked his way up from poverty, the bailiff has been known to target him, and Katadreuffe was seen leaving Dreverhaven's office on the afternoon of the murder. He is arrested and taken to police headquarters, where he reflects back on the story of his long relationship with Dreverhaven, who police learn, is also Katadreuffe's father.

THE CLUB – Monday September 6 at 8.00 PM Follow the inner workings of one of the most successful NRL franchises with an all access pass to one of the league’s leading teams. Tonight: The Manly Sea Eagles game against the Wests Tigers is do or die. The media hype is promising one of the best games of the season, but how are the players coping with the pressure of a grudge match?

Tonight: An ambulance officer is stabbed to death by a teenager in a meth-induced rage. When Detective Sonny Koa delivers the sad news, he bonds with the dead man’s Maori family.

HYUNDAI CODE – Thursday September 9 at 8.30PM Join the controlled chaos of Maori Television’s fun-loving sports entertainment show. Jenny May Coffin, Awen Guttenbeil, Glen Osborne and Ruben Wiki meet a wide array of established and rising stars from the world of sport.

HOMAI TE PAKIPAKI – Friday September 10 at 8.30PM A show with a style and flavour all its own, this singing competition has grown a large and faithful following over past series, from the amazing talent that turns up to audition every week to the dedicated viewers that tune at home. Filmed LIVE in front of a studio audience at Maori Television’s Auckland base, performers travel with their supporters from all around the motu to be part of the fun, entertain the crowd – and have a crack at winning the hearts and text votes of the audience. Matai Smith, Te Hamua Nikora and Pikiteora Mura-Hita share hosting duties.

CHRIS BAILEY RINGA WHAO (NZ DOCUMENTARY) – Saturday September 11 at 8.30PM Tracing the journey of a skinhead construction worker, in and out of trouble with the law, who went on to become one of the country’s leading Maori sculptors, showcasing his work on the international stage. An examination of the man and the artist – breaking out of his shell, discovering his culture and slowly changing his life through the redemptive power of art.

FINALS: KOWHAO RAU – Wednesday September 8 at 8.30 PM Quinton Hita wraps up his journey back to his roots in Northland, capturing the Ngapuhi dialect for posterity through tableside yarns with kaumatua.

411 – Friday September 10 at 10.30PM Reviews, highlights and samples from the world of technology. Tonight: A profile on the New Zealand Media Design School, which offers the country’s only tertiary course in gaming development.
